Starting over again...again
It's the beginning of another new year, and new years are a chance for renewal and change.
In May of 2006 my marriage ended and I set out to start my life over again. I promised to make changes in my life to better myself. It's been baby steps, and I have taken steps backwards; but all in all there has been forward momentum. That is, until my birthday last year. What seemed to be two small steps backwards (I looked at it as a birthday present to ignore the rules because I had been doing so well) turned out to be the pebble that started a landslide.
A few weeks ago I rented something called "The Secret" and it made a powerful impact on me. If you have not heard of or seen it, I highly recommend it. It is a documentary type film that talks about the power of the human mind. I can sum it up in one quote used in the film. "Weather you think you can, or you think you can't; you are right."
So, here I sit, almost back to where I started a year and a half ago; and more determined than ever to succeed in making those changes. Armed with what I learned from the film I am facing this new year with a more positive attitude. I have moved beyond the Little Engine That Could saying "I think I can" and "I know I can". As Yoda said, "Do or Do Not, There is No Try"; I plan to Do.
